Letter From Board President

The Northeast Georgia Council on Domestic Violence (NEGACDV) welcomes you to our website. Whether you are visiting to seek assistance, learn more or partner with us in our work to end domestic violence, we welcome your engagement.

One in every five women and one in every seven men in our community will experience domestic violence during their lifetime. NEGACDV provides a range of much-needed support for survivors and their children throughout Elbert, Hart and Franklin counties. Services include crisis line, safety planning, advocacy, shelter, legal support, children’s programming, support groups, counseling, basic needs support and more. For help with a domestic violence issue please contact us on our crisis line at 706-376-7111 or 1-800-334-2836.

While our services are life-changing and even life-saving, we also understand it’s critical to prevent future violence. With this goal in mind, you will frequently find NEGACDV representatives at local awareness and fundraising events teaching adults and children about ways to prevent and address violence. Last year our staff presented at over 25 events and the community contributed over $30,000 to help fund our services. We’re truly grateful for your support.

NEGACDV is governed by a seven member Board of Directors who are responsible for strategic planning, fundraising and monitoring the agency finances to ensure the sustainability of the organization. We have a staff of nearly 20 professionals who work tirelessly every day to support survivors and break the cycle of violence in our community. On behalf of the board, staff and over 600 community members who benefit from our services, thank you for joining us in our mission to promote and preserve healthy nonviolent, non-abusive interpersonal relationships through intervention, prevention and education!
